Today I am launching right into our progress on this Moody Blue Master Bedroom
as I am guessing that as of week #5
you have the gist of Linda from Calling it Home's brainchild,
the One Room Challenge.
After all of the painting, sewing and other work on the space,
now we are doing the fun stuff,
like adding a cool chair
(World Market, discontinued, which is a shame.)
Hanging artwork on the walls
like this piece found during a visit to Harbor Springs, MI.
Of course this "vintage" portrait of Therese needed a home and what better place?
And I am loving how they look against the deep blue walls
This baby was a spur of the moment find at TJ Maxx and could it be more perfect?
Can you say "gold chain link?"
Usually this basket will serve as a laundry hamper,
but for the ORC photos that would not look too "purdy" would it?
So I said fill it to the brim with Therese Marie Designs pillows and here we are!
Just a few finishing touches and Therese's Moody Blue Master Bedroom will be done,
be sure to come back next week for the final reveal, you won't be sorry!
Now go on, you know you want to check in on the progress of
the official ORC participants
as well as the ORC linking participants
so get after it!
I think Linda needs to coin a motto like this:
"ORC helping clever and creative people get off the couch and get something done since 2012"

And this photo taken and photoshopped by Allison Crockett and given as a gift that sat unframed until the right spot to hang it presented itself.
Speaking of vintage, how about this great find to corral jewelry?
We chose these swing arm lamps
Pottery Barn's Walker Sconce And I am loving how they look against the deep blue walls

What room would be fully accessorized without an abundance of pillows?
And when the room's resident is a "pillow artist,"
well let's just say this is the icing on the cake.....

This is looking AWESOME!! The lamps and the pillows and the art!! Are you two thrilled or what? I need to discuss the lace and sequin pillows too - those are genius and so pretty (I might NEED one ;) Really looking great and it looks like you're right on track too.
ReplyDeleteI can only imagine how much fun you two creative girls are having working on this together! :) All of the pillows are so GOOD, love the textures! I don't remember seeing that chair at WM, lucky you! Good luck this week!
ReplyDeleteThose wall sconces - loving them!!! I may just have to trash my idea of the IKEA sconces and spend a few bucks getting these - they look amazing in your space! And those pillow are awesome - love all of the trim and other little details. It looks like you are pretty much all ready for the reveal - can't wait to see it. You'll have to let us know what Therese thinks of her beautiful new space!

Hi Cathy, this is looking so good. Blue with that furniture is such a natural. I think my favorite element so far is the lighting. the sconces and that fab lamp!!
ReplyDeleteCathy those lights over the bed are sooooooooooo delicious. I just love the brushed gold with the blue (I have that combo in my master too!) The rug is still a show stealer, but the pillows bring in SO much personality…..you and Therese are such a good team!
ReplyDeleteI really love those lamps against the beautiful blue. And I love your art, I love when art is meaningful. Can't wait to see it all next week.
ReplyDeleteThe artwork over the bed could not be more perfect! What a beautiful combination!
