Let's start with a before shot into the old kitchen from the dining room....
After tearing down the wall separating the two rooms and opening up not only the space, but the flow of light, here is what we have...
The wall shared with the Living Room was also opened up...
....creating the pantry and peninsula wall.
Just for comparisons sake, here is another before...
And and after view into the dining area.
So there you have it, I am thrilled with how this kitchen turned out. I love the material choices as well as the big decisions my clients made; closing off a window, opening up walls, etc. The end result reflects who they are and how they live and they couldn't be more pleased.
Read more about this project here, here and here. My goal is to have one more post about this "Timeless Kitchen" with some "professional" photos as well as lots of details about the project so stay tuned!

Does your room need a “prescription” for a change of decor, function or design? If so please contact me, I would love to help your room feel better with a Design Concept Board or a complete Room Rx.
It looks sooo bright and fabulous!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful Cathy! I've really started to try to get more comfortable with color, and the before photos were very mustardy. The after shots are like fresh air - cool yet warm at the same time. Perfect choices and I'm excited to hear more! I'll also be interested in how you chose the colors and cabinets, etc.
ReplyDeleteCathy! This is soooo gorgeous. I love all of the materials and open space planning. Congratulations on such a beautiful design!

Cathy! I love how real your designs are. They are pretty and polished and well put together, but I can actually see some nice family making dinner together in there. Well done!
ReplyDeleteSo beautiful! Opening up the walls are an obvious improvement, but so is the decor. The countertop selections, the island, the window treatments, paint color...everything! I have a feeling your clients are going to be very happy with this room for a very long time!
ReplyDeleteWonderful job, Cathy! I'm sure they're thrilled! I was noticing the difference in work space...that is amazing, it's all incredibly functional, love the desk nook, too!
ReplyDeleteWow, Cathy, this is just GORGEOUS! What an amazing space .... I love how open it all is. Great job!
ReplyDeleteWow Cathy! You should be proud! I am sure the homeowhers are thrilled. It looks fabulous.
ReplyDeleteHoly cow!! It looks amazing! So much lighter and brighter with taking down that wall. Great color palette and I love the fabric for the window treatments too. And I love that even with the dark wood cabinets, it's still a bright and welcoming space. Well done!! Thanks for linking up!
ReplyDeleteWOW! You have great vision. The kitchen looks amazing. I love the blue walls! Congrats on your new space.

Cathy, thanks for sharing this. We have the same kitchen/dining room layout and will eventually tear down the wall between the two. It's inspiring to see what can be accomplished by rethinking a space!
ReplyDeleteoh my gosh, that is amazing! i love this-i have dark cabinets that we are not getting rid of when we finally do our kitchen, so seeing someone else with dark cabinets that look great is a huge inspiration. i love that soft blue, and lucky you, you got to tear out that soffit!
