Remember the before?
So that's that! The room is "done" though I artfully did not photograph the ceiling fan because it did not get zushed up. I am hoping to convince the accountant that I am married to that the yucky fans in the kids rooms need to be upgraded. Wish me luck!
So now hurry yourself on over to Linda's blog and see what all of the other folks have pulled off in their spaces at the
One Room Challenge linking party
And then if you haven't already, go see the final reveals of the official ORC participants.
Some amazing spaces and incredible talent out there.
Many thanks to Linda for all of the hard work on her part to keep the energy going on the ORC each week.
I don't know about you, but now that the ORC is over, I got nothin' but time on my hands!
Best gear up for the holidays or something.
Maybe I'll even get really organized and start planning for the next ORC.
Or maybe I'll go take an another after picture of my daughter's room, because you know it is already a mess again, right?!!!
Keeping it real…..
Thanks for sticking with me over the past 6 weeks, such fun!

Does your room need a “prescription” for a change of decor, function or design? I would love to work with you to help your room "feel better."
Contact me for more information about my design services.
That is so much more grown-up looking and pulled together.
ReplyDeleteHere's your argument for the accountant: Ceiling fans use more electricity that simple lights. If we swap them all out for new fixtures our bills will go down. Let me know if it works!
Cathy! I love all the color and fun vibe in this room! xo
ReplyDeleteKatie is the luckiest teenager in North America! I'm not a big orange guy, but I seriously love, love, love everything about this room, from the bedspread to that excessively groovy rug to the ottoman to those pop-of-blue door pulls.
ReplyDeleteI am always in awe of your incredible talent. When Katie goes off to college next year, would you mind terribly if I just move in? I would love to be able to call a room like that my own.
This is a very pretty room, Cathy! You have masterfully and creatively tied all the colors together and it looks so comfortable, too. A great hangout space for a teen.
ReplyDeleteI am loving the colors here...so fresh! That rug is to die for...
ReplyDeleteWell done!!

Such fun, bright colors - your daughter must be thrilled with it!!
ReplyDeleteLove all the color, perfect for a vibrant and energetic young lady! You should be proud! CHEERS!
ReplyDeleteCathy I can't get over the fun color palette in this room and how you pulled together all of those colors for a cohesive look. The rug is perfection for the space, and the bedding, accessories, and photo groupings are all so nicely done!
ReplyDeleteI audibly exhaled seeing the "afters." What a 180! Fab work, my friend.
ReplyDeleteIt looks great! I love the color scheme; the bright colors are just perfect, and the mixture of textures is fantastic.
ReplyDeleteThis is so fun Cathy! Does Katie love it? My favorite things are the chair (with pillows) and the rug. And how long will it stay looking like this :)?
ReplyDeleteLooking at where you started and then the new room is like switching radio stations from Metallica to Mozart. So serene! I am in love with the chair and that blue pillow! Where is that from? Is that Therese Marie?
ReplyDeleteThis room is so fun! I love all the color (of course) but it is still cohesive. New follower!
