As promised, I am sharing the remaining shots by Reverie Photography of my "Harwood" project. Today it is the family room which began as a tired, dark space which had served it's family well but was was in need of a "brighten-up." I posted previously about the space here.
As with the kitchen my clients, again, did a ton of work themselves from the removal of the wood paneling, to the arduous process of painting the beams and ceiling and the building of a bar (using pieces of the old wood paneling.)
After the paneling was taken down, the walls, despite being repaired, were in need of more than paint so another textured, paintable wall covering was installed.
There were several "family pieces" in the room that got a little fix-up including the "smoking stool" and the side table with TV tray drawers.
We also incorporated the many framed, stamped wildlife prints collected over the years.
One of my favorite transformations was the re upholstery of a pair of Overstock chairs with a stunning embroidery, which happened to be the inspiration fabric and jumping off point for the room.
I'll stop talking now and let the pictures finish the story….
I may have even imbibed on a little bubbly from "the bar" to celebrate a wonderful collaboration and a job well done!

ReplyDeleteOh my word! What a beautiful room and such a huge transformation. I love the light and bright feeling and the colors you used are so "up my alley'! Job well done, my friend.
ReplyDeleteLove the striped fabric. Can you share details on it?
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely amazing transformation, Cathy! I love the new color scheme and the embroidered fabric chair is gorgeous! The ottoman is quite similar to something I recently did for a client - I love the color and the tufting and I, too, put it on casters. The artwork and the sconce are perfect. I do love the incorporation of aqua/teal. Happy clients, for sure!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful job Cathy! Love how dramatic those striped chairs are and carrying those colors around the room. Great transformation! Happy Holidays Cathy to you and your family and wishing you all the best in the New Year! xo Nancy
ReplyDeleteWhat a stylish, fresh feel they have going on now!! The stripe on the chairs was a brilliant choice and I love the painted table between them! What a beautiful transformation, Cathy - they have to be thrilled!
ReplyDeleteCathy, what an incredible makeover! So much more bright and welcoming now! I love the colors and all the textures and patterns and I especially love the tufted ottoman :)
ReplyDeleteWow! The paint color alone made a huge difference! Well done Cathy!
ReplyDeleteWOW girlfriend - this is awesome! The pillows, the new furniture - just the difference in lighting is really great. I love the new wet bar - what a great little spot. And I also really love that ottoman - does it also have storage? I might need to look into that. Great job on this!!
