My tips for success when choosing neon color:
1) Use light and bright backgrounds, by which I mean flooring, wall colors and large furniture pieces; a place for the eye to rest.
2) Choose light or natural wood tones; no competition for attention.
3) Use neon brights as accent colors; a little bit of vivid goes a long way.
4) Stick to one or two neon colors; a rainbow of neon would be too much.

What do you think? Could you see using neon color somewhere in your home?
It's Spring break here in Madison, so I will be taking a little break from my regular blog schedule....no post tomorrow or Friday. But do check in on Thursday when I'll be sharing a project I am doing, motivated by several other bloggers (we are the "Undaunted Dozen"), for a series called "Spring into Action!"
Hint, it's a project I have been meaning to do for nearly a year.
Thank goodness this group has gotten me off my you know what to get it done!
Does your room need a “prescription” for a change of decor, function or design? If so please contact me, I would love to help your room feel better with a Room Rx.
Cathy, I think we are about the same age. When you see neon....aren't you thinking...I remember you!
ReplyDeleteI wasn't feelin' it, but then I saw your picks, hmmm...maybe a small accessory here or there for summer!
ReplyDeleteA little jolt here and there I'm okay with - I like that breakfast nook area that's really fun. I saw some neon clutches at Target the other day, and I thought I could do a neon clutch but that's probably as far as I would go. I do remember having some neon soccer shorts when I was younger - I loved those shorts.
ReplyDeleteDoes anyone remember neon sunscreen? I remember painting my face in it to go skiing! I was prepared to hate the return of neon, but you found some pretty images Cathy. Painting some sticks for a little vignette might be a fun DIY project.
ReplyDeleteI can only fathom of bringing this bold of a color into my home in accessories. But I love the options you rounded up!
ReplyDeleteI agree Neon is very fun in small does otherwise it looks like Candyland or the Circus!

Those chairs would look great in neon! But I can't wait to see what you decide to do with them. Happy Easter!
