As with anything, there are endless interpretations of the pattern, so that means something for everyone...
....bold and bright....
to soft and neutral.
A houndstooth Glen Plaid,
and a more traditional rendition.
A few artistic interpretations... from the color combo....
....to the pattern....
....to the scale.
And countless more....

What a versatile pattern, don't you think? Have you used houndstooth in any projects lately? Tell me about it and send me images, I would love to feature your work here on Room Rx.
In other news...we FINALLY got some snow! I know, crazy to be excited about it, but when nary an inch has fallen and it is Winter in the upper Midwest, snow is part of the landscape. Hopefully I can squeeze in a bit of time this week-end to get out and enjoy our 5 1/2 inches of fluffy stuff!
Thanks for sharing another week with me, I am grateful for your visits and dialogue.

Does your room need a “prescription” for a change of decor, function or design?
If so please contact me, I would love to help your room feel better with a Design Concept Board or a complete Room Rx.
I remember when I used to wear houndstooth blazers in London ! The bunnytooth one is an interesting version. I have not used this lately because people still see it as a more traditional pattern and are trying to modernize their spaces somewhat but this is definitely more versatile. I have just passed on the Leibster Award to you

Have a great weekend and enjoy the snow!
I LOVE houndstooth! I'm actually wearing a pretty bold yellow and gray houndstooth wool coat today :)
ReplyDeleteHave a great weekend!
Such a classic and I love all of the various images you pulled to show that it can be used in any type of style or taste. I also like how it can be young or sophisticated too. Great choice Cathy - I'll be referring back to this one again. Amber just showed an image yesterday in her "Why This Works" series that also showcased some houndstooth. Have a great weekend! It's getting colder here too.
ReplyDeleteAnother one of my favorites! I'd love the pink one in jacket! Every time I see that stencil I ponder where it could work!
ReplyDeleteHeres to a cold snowy weekend! :)
