Guest posting & some music

The lovely ladies at Opal Design Group have asked me to share about a favorite purchase and since I have not purchased much for my own home of late,  (we really can't count those items I find at the curb now can we?) I am sharing an exciting goodie I found for my "Hip & Comfy Family Room" project, so come on over and see what it is......

Opal Design Group

Opal Design Group consists of the talented duo of Jana & Jen, who met in design school and have been designing together ever since. Their  blog which is new to me, is filled with great information as well as their projects. Check out this piece that Jana recently painted for her son's nursery....

Pretty impressive transformation of a $60 Craigslist piece, no?

I promised music and here it is....
One of the many wonderful things about having teenagers is that I get exposed to all kinds of music I might not otherwise hear. Last month while we visited our oldest son at Conserve School one of the highlights of the week-end was the talent show. I was simply amazed by the talent among the group of 60 students, beautiful voices, skilled instrumentalists and adept at choosing the right song to showcase their talents. The song "Samson" by Regina Spektor was performed by 3 young ladies to perfection and has been in my head ever since. I swear those girls sounded equally as good as Regina herself!
The official video is quite clever as well, enjoy!

More here about Regina Spektor, an who is actually quite the phenom!

What music have you been listening to lately?

Does your room need a “prescription” for a change of decor, function or design? If so please contact me, I would love to help your room feel better with a Room Rx.

  1. I'll have to check out a new to me blog as well. And we love Regina Spektor too. The Easter Bunny brought Sheila the Elmo's Singing with the Stars DVD so we've been watching lots of that, but people such as Will I Am, Feist, Jason Mraz all sing on it with Elmo and friends and it's really fun (Sheila absolutely loves it) so I've always got those songs stuck in my head. A good gift if you need one for a toddler.
