My inspiration photo was the second one because it is fun, bright and reminded me of a very girly, cottage styled room with a bit of zing. I pictured my inspiration room as a Dining Room in a tiny, light filled Cape Cod style home that a young, single, professional woman has just purchased. The mix of floral patterns is not overly sweet because of layering in a few very graphic patterns in the pillows and patterned bench seat as well as some bright pops of color and dark wood tones. Only one wall is covered in the floral wallpaper and the others are painted in a very pale taupe color. The rug is a bold, large scale floral, the windows are treated with simple white panels trimmed with a fun fabric and the modern Saarinen style table adds the unexpected to the mix. Since every room benefits from a little bit of black, I've added that here with the framed butterfly prints and the zebra bench. All of the pieces in this room can be re-used as the owner's tastes and living arrangements change over the years. Enjoy!

Great job the pattern mixture and colors. I almost went with that photo for the same reason as you.

Hi, Cathy! I'm so glad you could join us...welcome to MBM:) I'm psyched you went with this inspiration photo, its so fun and colorful! And so is your room. I like how you did a dining room, I think its very unexpected with a palette like this and you pulled it off! I'm psyched that you used wallpaper too. A couple of my favorite things in here are the Wisteria mirror and W&S butterfly prints. I always get stuck using the same resources, so thanks for introducing me to some new places. Thanks again for taking the time to play with us!
Love how you balanced all the sweetness with that gorgeous dark wood floor -- perfect!
I've been eyeing that zebra bench -- love it in this room! I really like how you picked out things that can be used in other rooms -- fun!
Great Room!
Beautiful!!! I love the bright pops of color and it looks fantastic with that rich flooring! Great job!
That looks great! I think you achieved the look in the inspiration photo perfectly!
