Fresh Fabrics Friday: Guest Post - Carrie at Hazardous Design

Rounding out my week of wonderful guest posts by talented and fun fellow bloggers, is Carrie from Hazardous Design.  I have enjoyed watching the transformation of her charming home, project by project.  When you pay Hazardous Design a visit, be sure to check out the stunning powder room remodel that she and her husband did, as well as checking out their current family room project among others.  The girl has a great eye.....

Hello Room Rx readers! I'm Carrie from Hazardous Design. My husband and I are in the middle of remodeling our New England home located on Hazard Ave.  Unfortunately for me, most of our renovation budget has to go towards boring projects like a new roof or to reinforce the rafters in our garage, but every once in a while I get to splurge on fun wallcovering or fabrics for the rooms we renovate.  So when Cathy invited me to write a guest post for her "Fresh Fabric Friday" series, I knew exactly what my subject would be...the fresh floral fabrics of Designer's Guild. Our house was built in the 1800's, so when decorating, I've been trying really hard to keep our home's historic past in mind without making it look like a museum. I think these florals would be a great way to bring a little bit of old and new into our house.

These fabrics are a bit over the top, so a little would go a long way.

Rosenholm
The patterns and colors have a vintage sort of vibe to them.

Mariedal
They remind me of fabrics I might have seen as a kid at my grandmother's house
Orangerie
but these have an updated edge
Dujardin
 and are so dramatic.
Gallica-Rose
 Talk about making a statement!
Rugosa

What do you think? Love them or hate them?

Thanks for having me today Cathy, this has been so much fun!

I for one absolutely love these florals Carrie, thanks for sharing.

How lucky am I that I have had such terrific help this week on Room Rx while I have enjoyed my vacation?!  I am glad to be able to share the love and turn you all onto some great blogs, some of my favorites in fact.  This little blog world is filled with lovely folks and I am thankful to my blog pals Holly, Sherry, Jenn, Sarah, Lisa and Carrie for some great content this week.  Now go and enjoy your week-end and I'll see you all back here bright and early on Monday!!!

Great post Carrie. I love the DG fabrics although I don't think I would have said the same 2 years ago. I'm especially crazy about the Mariedal fabric.

I prefer the more muted florals when it comes to larger patterns. They are all very pretty - I am leaning towards Mariedal.

This is such a fun post!!! I think I usually tend to lean toward the "safe" side with fabrics, but these super busy ones look so fabulous! You may have just converted me to the fun side!

Hey, Carrie! Oooh, I really like that first one that's all shades of gray. I love that you are trying to keep some of that history in your home...makes me think of good old Abe Lincoln;) It was definitely fun guest posting here this week, wasn't it?!
