This is a nursery done on a budget, purchasing only what is needed and using many items already owned. Here is where the room started... freshly painted floors (carpet torn up revealing hardwood in not the best condition, so painting was the perfect solution).
The inspiration for the room, a rug from another room:
We found this fabric, which matches perfectly...
BTW, this is what it looks like on the computer screen..... just sayin'! As I mentioned on FFF, you can't always be sure of the color accuracy on screen so it's usually best to select fabrics in person.....
and this fabric for a touch of whimsy...
Instead of purchasing a new chair, this comfy number will reside in the nursery...
Our Grandma's lamp is joining the party, the blue is a perfect match to the rug....
So how will it all come together you ask?
This will be a girly girl's room, sweet, lacy and lovely. The pink on the walls is just a whisper of color, same with the blue on the ceiling. A friend is building a bookcase between the windows which will also serve as a radiator cover. A collection of milk glass will grace it's shelves, nestled among books and toys.
Jesse is working diligently on a ton of DIY projects so stay tuned as I'll be sharing those. Wait until you see what she has done to transform this piece......
I hope you will bear with me this week, my posting will be a bit light as I am trying to focus on my "to do" list which includes all of the last minute stuff for sending my oldest off to his semester at Conserve School. I can't believe he leaves this Saturday....!
Does your room need a “prescription” for a change of decor, function or design? If so please contact me, I would love to help your room feel better with a Design Concept Board or a complete Room Rx.
