Dot, dot, dot

The simplicity of graphic pattern holds great appeal for me, so for as long as I can remember, I have had a thing for polka dots.  Juvenile?  Maybe, but then again, polka dots can be used in such a fresh way that is not remotely childish. The pattern is a great way to spice things up, like in this kitchen by one of my favorites, Sarah Richardson ....

Or in this bedroom, adding a little punch at the end of the bed...

A few of the expected, but still delightful uses of polka dot...

And a few fun, ready made polka dot options for purchasing and adding a little zip to your space....

I have actually been thinking more about polka dots because of Sarah Richardson. She uses them like crazy, where I'm not sure I would think to use them in a kitchen or dining room--she does it so well.
I'm all aboard the polka dot train!

I've always been a big fan of the polka dot! I especially love the bathroom shown above--those colors bring everything together and really open up a small space!

What a fun post! I love polka dots, but for some reason they make me incredibly nervous. You've found some wonderful illustrations, though, showing how dots can be both fun and sophisticated!
