Lucky girl that I am, today I have a guest post from Susi, a design enthusiast and writer over at Design Shuffle. She will wet your whistle for the kind of inspiration and design topics you can find there, so take it away Susi.....

Hi, I’m Susi, a writer for Design Shuffle, a wonderful community where design lovers share inspiration, showcase their projects and network with design professionals. I love getting to visit great design blogs and see what decorating ideas everyone is talking about. Cathy asked me to write about marvelous marblelization this week. Little did she know that I fell in love with Florentine marbleized paper ages ago. Marbleizing is so much more than just recreating a marble pattern. Colorful and unique, marvelous marblelization can transform ordinary walls and objects into works of art. Whether you try your own hand at marbleizing or buy marbleized accents, this is a pattern that I think you'll love. Enjoy! Interior Designs

Marbleized paper is often used in book binding. Love it on a large scale piece of paper. Framed it looks like abstract art. Very cool. Interior Designs

Marbleized wallpaper is marvelous in this powder room. The dominate red color is tempered by white and gold accents in the lighting and counter.

Hand painted glass votives have a marvelous marblelization from swirled colors of paint. This technique could be done on larger glass pieces like jars and bottles too.

Marble pattern on linens is a marriage of tie-dye and zig zag pattern. It is a colorful and bold pattern for the bed. Looks great against the dark velvet of the headboard used in this bedroom design. Love the marbleized pillow shams too.

Marbleized fabric makes incredible pillows for a sofa or bed. The marbleized pattern is similar to the zig zag pattern that is so popular right now. Interior Designs

I'll have to put this on my to-do list to check out Design Shuffle - i've never heard of it and I like checking out new things. I really love that image of the votive candles.
