Mood Board Monday: Wallpaper edition

Well, today is the day, finally! It's Mood Board Monday!!!! To refresh your memories, Sarah from Pewter & Sage was kind enough to do a guest post for me while I was on vacation and she introduced the idea that we would co-host one of her great Mood Board Monday link parties.  We chose wallpaper as the inspiration and each selected a few to share.  It was difficult for me to choose which one I liked best because they are all fabulous, but in the end I decided to be a little more low key in the pattern I selected....

However, I chose to use this fabulous wallpaper in a less common way, on the ceiling of my imaginary room  trimmed out with beautiful mouldings and using a ceiling medallion as the base for a catchy light fixture, similar to this....

I wanted to create a dining nook with an updated traditional feel so when I found this rug, I knew combined with the wallpaper, it would do the trick for me....
I was also pretty smitten with the upholstered seat back on this banquette and thought I could replicate the look using a built in bench combined with a customizable headboard like this:

Here is what I came up with, I wish I could do this exact room in my home...too bad the colors are entirely different from everything else I have going on.  Maybe that's part of what appeals to me, a total change of color story!

My imaginary room would have a base of ebony stained hardwood floors and creamy walls, and since I envision this being part of a large, open kitchen/ family room area, tall windows dressed in striped panels would allow a great flow of light. Opposite the seating area would be a sideboard, perfect for serving and storing as well as additional chairs, all of it anchored by a bold piece of art.

For sources, simply click on each of the smaller items below the mood boards, you'll go right to the web source.

Now it's time to see what you all have come up with!  You can link up below or head on over here to link up. Be sure to visit the other participants, comment and maybe even become a follower of their blog. There is lots of creativity out there! I have really enjoyed participating in Mood Board Monday and have met some delightful "blog friends" like Sarah by doing so.

Here are the guidelines for linking up:
Now its your turn! Here's what you do to join the party:
1. Create a mood board for any kind of room using one of the above inspirational wallpaper patterns.
2. Write a post about it, including sources (with a link back to this post so others can come look).
3. Add your name, project and thumbnail image to the Linky here on this post.
4. Then add the link to your SPECIFIC Mood Board Monday POST, not your general blog address.
5. Have fun checking out all the other wonderful rooms!
Remember, feel free to include an example or inspirational image of the way in which you are going to use your wallpaper if you think it will help others visualize your space better:)

Does your room need a “prescription” for a change of decor, function or design? If so please contact me, I would love to help your room feel better with a Room Rx

Your moodboard is so pretty Cathy! I love that you used the wallpaper on the ceiling. The orange/coral accents are gorgeous. I can see why you want this room for yourself! I'd take it too!

Gasp! I am in love with this room, Cathy!! So unexpected, great use of the wallpaper..I would never have thought to put it on the ceiling (slaps palm on forehead)!!! No wonder you want it in your house, I do too! I really like how you built up both sides of the room as two mood boards, definitely helps me envision the space more. That rug is beautiful, I love how it combines both the soft cool tone of the wallpaper with those warm, cozy shades. The banquette is awesome too and I like the sconces. You knocked it out of the ballpark on this one, girl! Thanks again for co-hosting (I sent you another email)!
