Mood Board Monday: Dinnerware and Dining Rooms

It's time for another Mood Board Monday over at Pewter & Sage, today's inspiration is dinnerware and the dining room that can be created from that starting point.  Sarah picked some lovely options to choose from, making my head swim with ideas, but in the end I went with my heart and chose the Penumbral Doily Dinnerware from Anthopologie because it just spoke to me.  I loved the handmade, less than perfect quality to it, thought it made for a flexible choice for setting a table and would work in any dining room.

Inspired by the cottagey, earthy feel of the dinnerware, the idea of using a hand hooked rug that I had been admiring set my plan in motion.  Pale linens, recycled glassware, mix and match silverware and soft color add to the casual look I was after. Pewter and gold finishes give the room a little bling and serve to dress it up a bit.  Come on in and have a peek......

One of the best parts about Mood Board Monday is seeing the level of creativity that exists.  With three different dinnerware options to choose from, no two boards will be the same.  So head on over to Pewter & Sage, then click away to see what other inspired folks have created.  Be sure to visit their blogs and let them know how you like what they have done, trust me, you are in for some fun today!

Does your room need a “prescription” for a change of decor, function or design
If so please contact me, I would love to help your room feel better with a Design Concept Board or a complete Room Rx.

I LOVE where you went with this Cathy. I've admired that rug for a long time as well and I think it fits right into this pretty space. I think the penumbral dinnerware was challenging because of all the thousands of ways you could go with it (but fun!). This looks like a room that I could dine with all of my blog friends. Great job!!

Oh and I love the charger you used with the plates too - the different metals and glass here are really awesome.

What a gorgeous, light and bright room! I picked the same dishes and went a totally other direction which is what makes this whole exercise fun right? That sideboard is awesome, LOVE that color!

I love how a few of you have used this dinnerware set in such different ways. The title of your board is perfect, Cathy, and the rug captures some fabulous colors including the gorgeous aqua. I love all the accessories - the glassware, the chandelier, candlesticks..amazing!

I think this is one of my favorite boards ever. The pale colors work so well with the pretty, lacy plates. Everything looks so soft and feminine. I would love to have this style throughout my home

Cathy, this is so lovely! It's really a unique, beautiful space...so interesting how all you lace guys took the rooms in such different directions! I love reading everyone's process..that rug is so cool! I love all the recycled glass in here and those napkins! My other faves are the wingback chair and sideboard (such a pretty color!). Can I come over for Thanksgiving?! Thank you so much for putting together another unbelievable room for MBM!
