Fresh Fabrics Friday: What to make with a yard of fabric...

Remember these fabric baskets that I made as a baby gift some time ago using this tutorial

I did it again for some darling twin boys. These little baskets add a dose of pattern and color to the nursery and are perfect for storing socks, diapers or any other baby item that needs corralling. They are ridiculously easy to make and such a fun and personal gift. And of course they are not limited to putting in a nursery, think bathroom, kitchen, family room, where ever you have "stuff" that needs tucking away

And since I had some fabric scraps left over from the first set of baskets which I made for this

when I stumbled upon a bit of lace, this pillow took shape.

So the moral of the story? Save those scraps of fabric from your projects, you never know what you can create with them!

How do you use your single yard or fabric remnants?
Let me know if you have created something your are especially proud of or excited about, I would love to feature it here...

As with many of you, life is crazy busy around here, so my blogging has taken the back seat. I have lots of great client projects in the works so I promise to share as things come together. In the meantime I may be inconsistent in blogging regularly, but I know you all get it!

Have a great week-end and think positive thoughts about Spring arriving here in the Midwest, it seems a bit elusive this year....

Those fabric bins are so cute and practical and they look so nice. And you made that pillow?? It's beautiful - you've given me an idea for some of those doilies I have on hand from my Mom that were handed down. Very impressive! Have a wonderful weekend.

It's posts like this that make me want to learn how to thread the bobbin. So cute and I always see great fabrics on the remnant table that I think would make a good projects (if I could sew!) Happy weekend, Cathy!

I don't have anything creative. I just make pillows. These baskets are so cute.

I missed those baskets, so fun for kiddos, they look harder than my go-to pillows I always make! End of the school year is always so busy, enjoy!

Those baskets are still on my list of things to make - so cute! I always keep fabric scraps. It gets a little ridiculous space-wise, but I always find cute ways to use them.

I want one of those baskets, or several for Maura's new bookshelf!!! They are so cute, Cathy!!! Love the pillow too. Wish I had some skills to do something with my fabric scraps:) No worries, I have been a terrible blogger too. Life happens, I don't even have clients to use as an excuse!!!
