This table is one of the very first pieces of furniture I ever bought, a looong time ago. The natural pine finish and Southwestern style cutouts gave it a very dated look, but nothing a little bit of paint couldn't cure.
The stars aligned when a friend of mine, who is an interior painter with a very creative side, began to really pursue her passion for painting things other than walls and took an Annie Sloan Chalk Paint workshop at a local Annie Sloan retailer, Studio 184.
I walked her through my house and pointed out all of the pieces that needed a facelift (many) and we chose the table and some Olive paint.

Arles
uhhmmm,
no, I don't think so.
My friend suggested Graphite.
Now that's more like it.
Have you tried Annie Sloan Chalk Paint? I love the colors and the ease of application. And who doesn't love having a friend ready, willing and able to add her creative touches to tired furniture?

Love it, Cathy!!! Such a difference. The green with the dark grey is so cool. I really like the Annie Sloan chalk paint...gearing up to paint the dresser from my grandmother that I've had sitting around for awhile. So jealous that you have access to a SIL with so much sewing talent:)

What a fun update, Cathy! And, those knobs make the perfect statement, they're so unique and the white looks great! I agree with Sarah, you're so lucky to have such a fun and C :) SIL!
This looks awesome Cathy - gives that little sitting area a nice look especially with those new pillows CSIL cooked up too :) I'm actually thinking about using ASCP on the desk for my upcycle challenge - it's so EASY which is what I love.
I love seeing the Graphite paint in "real life" - it's a great not-too-dark-black shade! Love how your table turned out!
