Fresh Fabrics Friday: Parlor Textiles

A while back I stumbled across the a blog called  Debut written by textile designer
Angela Clinton of Parlor Textiles.  Angela is a big fan of traditional Eastern motifs and vintage fabrics, which are the foundation of her gorgeous, hand printed in the USA fabric line.  Not only are her patterns just stunning, but the line is very eco-friendly in that the designs are printed on a soft and textural ivory fabric made from 55% hemp/45% certified organic cotton, using low-VOC, water-based inks.  Read more about the process here.

Because of the nature of the fabric, it is best made into pillows, throws, window treatments and other low use soft furnishings.

It was hard to chose, but I am sharing a couple of my favorite patterns and  what I would do with them.
First is medallion in 3 yummy colorways:

How gorgeous would the Airy Blue (pictured just above) be, made into a shade like this? Perfect on a kitchen or sunroom window....

This pattern, ailey speaks to me as well because it has the look of a block print and green, as you know, is one of my favorite colors (ailey also comes in 2 additional colorways, indigo and soft black.)

I love the idea of slipcovering an old wooden bed frame with it, like this...

The Parlor Textiles website sells the fabrics by the yard (samples available) as well as already fabricated into beautiful pillow covers.  Angela's blog is one of my must reads as she has quite a talent for creating a room from a pattern inspiration, whether a rug, fabric or some other print.  Check it out and enjoy.  Have a grand week-end and we'll see you back here on Monday!

Does your room need a “prescription” for a change of decor, function or design? If so please contact me,
I would love to help!

I love these fabrics -- they have a calming feel to them.
