Chalkboard Paint: Love it or leave it?

Chalkboard paint has been all over the "blogisphere" for the past couple of years, and I guess I would have thought that by now I would be tired of seeing it but I must admit, I never cease to be amazed at the creative ways in which it is used.  I have collected a few of my favorites and want to share them here with you today.

Love this application in a Craftsman style bungalow dining room, I imagine that whatever is written on the wall is quite the conversation starter.

This is clever and I'll bet quite funny as the legs and torso change...

This refrigerator was initially given a DIY stainless steel paint job that did not turn out well, the chalkboard paint was a fabulous alternative.

A cheery color and great way to help a child be organized.

How fun is this giant family planning calendar?

A chalkboard paint covered canvas as large scale art, imagine the possibilities!

If the kids won't eat their breakfast they can draw on the island!

A great addition to an entry or mudroom, the House Rules!

This could be my favorite, I love the flat black color of the chalkboard paint and the flexibility and potential of this piece with the addition of a little colored chalk and a beautiful pattern.

So what do you think, are you sick of seeing chalkboard paint?  Is it over done?  Have you given it a try or would you consider doing so in your home?

Does your room need a “prescription” for a change of decor, function or design? If so please contact me,
I would love to help!

Surprisingly, I'm not sick of chalkboard paint yet either. I just bought my first can the other day and I can't quite commit to a spot in my home so I painted vases :)
