Fresh Fabrics Friday: Hable Construction for Hickory Chair

Last Fall a collaboration between Hable Construction and Hickory Chair  was successfully introduced pairing Hable's fabrics, licensed and created from hand painted designs, with Hickory Chair's more classic furniture pieces. The Hable sisters researched Hickory's existing fabric line and designed their fresh patterns to complement and integrate into the line.  The result was a grouping of organically patterned fabrics in more subtle colorways. The fabrics are woven in North Carolina pairing perfectly with the fact that the Hickory Chair products are almost all made by hand there as well. Based on the initial success of the line, the Spring 2011 Market saw introductions of additional colors.

With names like Pom Pom, Ponti and Mustaches, the patterns have a typical Hable Construction feel but fit perfectly with the more traditional lines of Hickory's product offering.
Below are a few patterns that appeal to me.

On Hickory Chair's website you can choose a piece of furniture and  add the Hable fabric to it....
At this year's Fall Market, new colorways and one new pattern were introduced taking the line in a bolder color direction. Fushia, tomato, terra cotta, sapphire and lapis are not yet up on the Hickory website, but based on the shot below, taken in the Hickory showroom at the Fall 2011 Market,  I can't wait to see what they are all about.

What do you think? If you are interested in learning more about this wonderful collaboration, Hickory Chair's blog, Made By Hickory Chair has articles here and here.

The week-end is upon us, as with many of you, we have lots going on and much to do, including getting my freshly painted office put back together and putting a few Holiday decorations put out.  Whatever is on your plate,, enjoy it and I'll see you back here on Monday!

Oh and one last thing, I linked up my Timeless Kitchen Peek to Miss Mustard Seed's  Furniture Feature Friday. I figured that a banquette and built-ins qualified as furniture! Wow there are a lot of great projects over there, be sure to check it out!

Does your room need a “prescription” for a change of decor, function or design
If so please contact me, I would love to help your room feel better with a Design Concept Board or a complete Room Rx.

If I had a lot of money, I would invest in a Hickory Chair piece. They are so classic. And these fabrics would just be icing on the cake paired with their furniture. I really love that last black fabric with the white dots. And I would LOVE to see more of the new bolder colorways. I'm going to put this on my list to check out. Have a great one Cathy!!
