Let's begin outside. I finally got the front door painted earlier this fall and the red color works well for the holidays.
The wreath and the basket of greens got gussied up with a dose of dried hydrangea from my yard and some ribbon from my stash.
In my foyer I use a memo board wrapped up with a bow as a way of displaying the holiday cards that come our way.
The buggy bench is home to the Santas and snow girls.
We had to make room for the tree in the Living room so a chair moved into the foyer, it looks festive layered with a throw and holiday pillows.
Since we can't do a really tall tree, my kids chose the "fattest" tree they could find at the tree farm. We have quite the collection of ornaments and normally are unable to even use them all, not a problem with "Mr. Big" this year. Here he stands all decked out in our Living room.
A wood tray with scented candles, pine cones and glass ornaments sits on the ottoman.
The fireplace mantle in the Family room is home to my Mom's carved Santas and Swedish candlesticks, nestled in among the fresh garland.
I added the straw stars to a couple of shadow box frames I had on hand.
I love adding holiday pillows...
This is probably my favorite piece furniture, my Great Grandmother's rocker, which I updated a few years ago with a zebra patterned cushion. The needlepoint pillow adds a festive touch.
My decorations are nothing extravagant, just simple and sentimental items that get moved around each year and make our home feel like Christmas.
Join me over at Cottage & Vine today where I am linking up to Rene's Room by Room Christmas Tour. Should be some great eye candy as lots of folks will be sharing their homes decked out for the holidays, be sure to stop over for a visit...
Does your room need a “prescription” for a change of decor, function or design?
If so please contact me, I would love to help your room feel better with a Design Concept Board or a complete Room Rx.

Thanks for the tour so very pretty and inviting Cathy! I'm in love with your great grandmother's rocker - that piece is a beauty and all jazzed up with the new cushion. I can remember one year my brother and I picked out a very fat tree and it ended up taking up half the space in my Mom's living room - but we loved the tree so much. One thing that is missing from ours is some garland which I noticed on your tree - I will have to pick some up after Christmas if not before to have.
Cathy- what a warm and festive home you've created! I have major porch envy. :-). That rocker is so special and fabulous all at the same time! Enjoy your week.

Your home looks so cozy and festive! What a lovely space to spend the holiday :)
Love me some fat trees! If only we had the space for one. Your home is so festive Cathy. Thank you for joining the party!
Cathy, love your porch with those unique pieces, that rustic angel and planter! I can tell your decorations are treasures, I bet you love getting them out every year! And, that ottoman is very cool, you'll have to give me the scoop.
Also, how on earth did you even have time to decorate with a kitchen remodel and huge party?!!
It all looks so inviting. Thanks for sharing. I will follow on my way out so as I would love to visit again. I hope you will find the time to come visit my place and do the same. Wishing you a very Merry Christmas and I look forward to engaging and supporting your blog in the New Year. Cheers SpecialK XoXo
The house looks very festive, Cathy. I love the Santa figurines and pillows are such an easy way to bring in some more of the season. Looks like you have had some snow already - the outside too looks great. I too use some stuffed figures all over the house (for the kids, of course).
everything looks really nice!
