10 Things: A cheery dinette

Browsing through the portfolio of design firm Graciela Rutkowski Interiors, this happy spot just jumped out at me.  I love the simplicity and aesthetic of the dinette's design and here is why:

1) Fresh color palette, with black playing a starring role
2) Graphic patterns in fabrics are of similar scale, yet they work well together
3) Side chair color, fabric and fretwork back
4) Leather settee with nail head trim and rolled arms
5) Gorgeous trestle table with "x" base and interesting finish
6) Pop of orange takes bright to a new level
7) The green found in the trees right outside the windows plays a part in the color scheme
8) Walls and trim appear to be painted the same color, different finish
9) Use of end tables, an unexpected element
10) ???

Jump in here people, what do you see? You are responsible for "thing # 10" so please don't disappoint!

Does your room need a “prescription” for a change of decor, function or design? If so please contact me, I would love to help your room feel better with a Room Rx.

I love the big windows and all of the natural light pouring in. And it looks like it would be part of a big open area for great entertaining and family events or a card game.

The drapes are so lovely. Sunny yellow is always a welcoming color.

How about the big, bold lighting choice? I love those orange gourd lamps and the way they frame the banquette.

I'm a big banquette fan- and I love how they used an actual sofa here. It would be so cosy to sit with your coffee here in the mornings.

This series is so fun Cathy!

I'm always a fan of mixing up the seating styles, beautiful combination! Also, the lighting is interesting, nothing overhead?? I bet the lamps give it a nice ambiance. Great photo, Cathy!

Gosh you make it hard to choose #10! I just love the mix of it all. It seem like there is a lot going on but nothing really steals the attention to me, it just all seems to flow.

The mix of different seating options makes it more fun and interesting.

#10. Sophisticated patterns with simple wooden trestle table...sort of like pairing jeans with a sophisticated top, and you are good to go! Really pretty and serene . Simply lovely! ;)
