Inspired: Simple Artwork

I can't remember where I first saw this photo (and I've seen it everywhere it seems and apologize if you have too...) but it really floats my boat.  The neutral palette and the worn, well used elements, the bolt of green on the antique chest are all beautiful, but what really speaks to me is the artwork.  The simplicity of the piece is not only stunning, but powerful.  Rag paper, pen and ink, the Allium as the subject and the size of the work all contribute to this.  I am crazy about it......

So I am inspired, I saved this tutorial a while back, I have a couple of blank canvases and an old book (to use for it's pages) and of course black sharpie markers.  I plan to do an interpretation of the artwork above as one of my Summer projects, a use what you have on hand sort of project.

Let's just hope that my "DIY ADD" does not kick in and delay/prevent me from completing this (or life, my kids, their activities and my chauffeuring duties, you know the drill).  I have just the place I'm going to hang these....!
How about you, any fun Summer projects up your sleeves?  Do tell....

Does your room need a “prescription” for a change of decor, function or design
If so please contact me, I would love to help your room feel better with a Room Rx!
