Room Rx: Family Room Quick Fix

Investing wisely in flexible foundation pieces for a room such as finishes, furniture, carpet and window treatments means that at some point the room can be easily updated with a fresh look.   By simply changing paint colors, adding a new rug and accessories, the room can feel brand new.  You may remember this post where I mentioned that my CSIL was interested in doing just that.

Here are a few shots of her room:

Gorgeous neutral wool carpeting, a crisp, comfy chocolate brown sectional, simple yet full window panels, woven wood blinds and nice built-ins are the perfect place to start this "quick fix."  It's time to say good bye to the traditional rug and the soft blue and brown color scheme and to put a little zip in this room.

"Hello" bright green and yellow Ikat fabric, graphic green rug and bold photographic art...

Let's do the "freshen up," and see where we can go with all of this.....
Lemongrass Family Room

We've got a few fun ideas up our sleeves, my "creative sister in law" and I!  You just wait and see what a little bit of paint and a few textiles and accessories can do to a room....stay tuned!

Does your room need a “prescription” for a change of decor, function or design? If so please contact me,
I would love to help!

This should be a beautiful update to her space and not cost an arm and a leg too. She has a nice base to work with. I'm sure that makes your job must easier.

I love the design board and all of the colors. I saw that very rug at Ikea yesterday and stared at it for 10 minutes thinking....where could I use? It is fabulous!
