What happens when you take a chair with great style, hum drum fabric and an amazing price and give it a make over? Today I am going to show you....the Ella chair from World Market is that chair. At $320 for a pair of these chairs it was easy to look past the mushroom colored ultra suede covering the seat and back and see the potential for something fabulous.
Good thing my CSIL trusts me and is undaunted by a serious project.
When she first saw these guys she was all "Eeeww, you are kidding me right?"
And I was all "Uhhmmm no I am not, work with me here!"
So she snapped up those babies.
We chose some fabric,
And that clever girl got to work. She pulled those chairs apart to make her fabric patterns, (nearly rendering her hands numb with the amount of glue and staples she had to yank, a chair made to withstand who knows what) and then put them back together again,
just like she did for her other chairs.
And I'd say the result is quite fabulous....you? In fact not just fabulous, but quite professional!
LOVE THEM!!!! I might even covet them.....
BTW a custom chair in this style from Ballard Designs, like this:
costs $441 for just one! And in my mind it is not nearly as stylish....
Now that her dining room is almost finished, with just a few details left to wrap up, Therese is ready to enjoy the fruits of her labors on the various rooms of her "new" home over the past many months. Her next project is a party for her neighbors.
We'll share the final dining room reveal once the details are pulled together, so stick with us! In the meantime, if you missed anything along the way you can start the journey to add style to this dining room here and see more here, here and here.
By the way, Happy First Day of Spring! It does not feel too much like Spring here in Madison as we got another 4" of snow on Monday and the high for today is going to be a balmy 19 degrees....
HURRY UP SPRING! I am getting testy!
I am partying over here this week:
Does your room need a “prescription” for a change of decor, function or design? If so please contact me, I would love to help your room feel better with a Room Rx.
